Summary: 

The Gold Lite program isn’t for all participants, as it is a shorter length than our classic program meaning participants have less instructor-led learning. We believe this is not necessarily the best approach for direct entry participants. However, if participants have prior experience and skills in relation to the DofE award or for schools or organisations with staff who have knowledge relating to the expedition section that are able to deliver certain elements of the program. This program could be for you! 

The additional support from school staff is important in order for participants to reach the required standard for a qualifying expedition.

Duration: 

• Training: 3 days (1 school training and 2 day off-site navigation and skills training)
• Assessment: 4 days with 3 night camping

We have a range of locations depending on your needs and our experienced team has knowledge of many areas across the UK   

Ratios:

Our Gold Lite is run on a 1:7 ratio for training days and 1:14 ratio for the assessment expedition.

Overnight duties:

Overnight pastoral cover can be arranged on request at an additional cost.

• Group first aid kit
• Tents
• Stoves and fuel
• A tracker per team on assessment
• Hi-vis jackets for road safety
